ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has appointed Anup Bagchi as its new CEO and managing director. Bagchi, who is currently the executive director of ICICI Bank, will take over from NS Kannan, who retires on 18 June. The ICICI Prudential board approved the appointment of Bagchi as CEO and named him COO from 1 May, to ensure a smooth transition. Bagchi has been with the ICICI group since 1992 and led the wholesale banking, transaction banking, markets, and proprietary trading group before becoming executive director in 2017. ICICI Prudential is India’s largest private sector life insurer and is part-owned by Canadian firm Fairfax Financial Holdings.
