Will Smith Clarifies Rumors Surrounding Sean « Diddy » Combs

Will Smith has decisively addressed the swirling rumors suggesting his involvement in Sean « Diddy » Combs’ alleged « freak-offs, » events purportedly associated with sexual assaults and sex workers. Recently resurfacing in the music scene, Smith took to the stage in San Diego on Friday, seizing the opportunity between songs to firmly distance himself from Combs.

« Navigating our current world, it’s tough to separate fact from fiction, you know? I’ve seen the memes and all that, » stated the King Richard star in a TikTok video that was later shared by various media outlets. « Some of them are funny, but I haven’t publicly addressed this until now. I want to be very clear: I have nothing to do with Puffy. So, you can stop all those memes. »

Setting the Record Straight

Smith elaborated that he usually refrains from publicly commenting on rumors, as people constantly make sensational claims. However, he felt compelled to respond to these particular rumors because « your memes were going too far. » « Listen, I’ve got enough of my own issues, » continued the Oscar-winning actor. « Don’t drag me into the nonsense of others. I haven’t been near that man, and I haven’t participated in any of that ridiculousness. So, whenever you hear someone say that, it’s a blatant lie. I don’t even like baby oil, » he remarked, alluding to the thousands of bottles of baby oil and lubricant found during police searches of Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Florida back in March.

Smith’s remarks come in the wake of serious allegations against Jay-Z regarding an incident involving a 13-year-old girl in 2000, where it is claimed that Combs was also involved in the assault at a party following the MTV Video Music Awards. Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, responded to the lawsuit with a lengthy statement, urging the accuser to file a criminal complaint rather than a civil one. « These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to seek criminal justice instead!! Anyone committing such a crime against a minor deserves to be incarcerated, right? These alleged victims deserve true justice if that’s the case, » he expressed.

According to a report from NBC News, Jay-Z’s attorney is pursuing a dismissal of the lawsuit after the plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe, displayed multiple inconsistencies in her claims. « Today’s investigative report proves that this ‘lawyer’ [Tony] Buzbee filed a fraudulent complaint against me in pursuit of money and fame, » stated Combs in a recent declaration. « This incident did not occur, yet he submitted it to court and insisted upon it in the media. True justice is on the way. We’re fighting FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it even began. This 1-800 lawyer doesn’t realize it yet, but soon he will. »

Combs is currently facing serious charges related to conspiracy and sex trafficking, having been arrested on September 16. He has requested bail three times, each time being denied. Currently, he is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and is expected to remain there until his trial in May.
